GMail “Smart Folder” Tip

Matt Cutts has an old tip on his blog: the link https://mail.google.com/mail/#search/label:unread+label:inbox will take you to GMail with the two labels “unread” and “inbox” used as search terms, thus showing you only your unread items in your inbox.

I wanted to use this as what would be termed a “smart folder” on the Mac. I have the GMail Labs feature Quick Links enabled, but I’ve never used it. I thought I’d try putting in the whole link there. After clicking “Add Quick Link” it offered to save the current search with the link text of my choice. Easier than I anticipated.
